A note from the founder.

Artistic. Refined. Custom.

If you're reading this, then you've made it this far to validate who we are and what we are all about. I believe it is important to share the meaning behind why this company was created. So let me get personal and real for a moment.

It's quite simple, really.

As a mother, I'd do whatever possible to care and provide for my child. Recently, my young son was going through his second year of bullying and inappropriate behavior displayed toward him at his school. After several attempts to address the issue and no resolution in sight, the bullying turned into physical violence. The school still did nothing. My husband and I attempted to transfer him to another campus, but were told they had no room. Our only options were to leave him where he was or take drastic measures.

We took drastic measures.

I will never forget the look of relief on my 8-year old's face when I told him we would be homeschooling going forward. It was like seeing a new kid. I will also never forget the look on my husband's face when I told him one of us would have to stay home since the cost of a babysitter was almost the cost of a full year's salary in 2023.

My parents raised me to work hard and earn my way through life. Never to expect something for nothing and remain steadfast in the most adverse of situations. With an extensive consideration of options, I decided to start my own business to replace what was lost so my convictions in doing the best by my son could remain a reality.

I founded Axel Creations ARC on Etsy with the mindset to simply give something back to my family, but found in the process I could also give back to others through products they only dreamed about. The excitement and appreciation when an item came in sooner than planned or better than expected has become a driving aspect of enjoyment in this endeavor.

I chose to remain focused on creating products that people would love for their own "special someones" as gifts or decor in their own homes.  Yes… are there a million-and-one "custom photo blankets" on the worldwide web? Absolutely! But as a small family-oriented business, with a little creativity and patience, I soon found myself creating one-of-a-kind designs as special orders. Clients liking the traditional design, but LOVING a few tweaks to make it more personalized. And then returning with new ideas for the next gift or creation. The warmfelt excitement and thank yous have only added to the blessings of our situation.

It remains important to maintain a small business mindset to ensure the values of a family-oriented business remain intact. To continue being able to work with clients one-on-one if needed to build exactly what they were thinking about, but couldn't find...within reason of course.

Our goal is to grow enough to give back to our local communities and share the same blessings we have received. With hopeful expansion in the upcoming future, we look to partner with community groups such as animal shelters and local non-profits to give a portion of our sales to from select designs (more to come by summer!)
